The famous Las Vegas Strip is not actually located inside the city of Las Vegas. Most famous casinos (Bellagio, MGM, Ceasars) are technically in an unincorporated town called Paradise, Nevada. It was created by casino owners in the 1950s specifically to avoid paying city taxes.

The golden windows of The Mirage get their color from real gold dust. When the resort was built, actual gold was used in the glazing process of the windows to give them that iconic 24-karat glow in the desert sun.
